Ola(the indian company) expands overseas, set to launch in Australia in 2018

Ride-hailing service company Ola is set to launch itself in Australia in the coming few months. Company's co-founder and chief executive Bhavish Aggarwal made the announcement on Tuesday in a press statement. This would be the company's first step towards overseas and has already started recruiting drivers in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth starting Monday.
"A momentous day for us at @Olacabs, as we go International with Australia! We've begun onboarding driver-partners across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth & look forward to working together with local communities in building mobility for every Australian," Aggarwal tweeted.
With expansion in Australia, Ola will once again lock horns with closest rival company Uber which entered Australia in year 2012. Ola follows into the footsteps of Estonian-ride haling service company Taxify which debuted last year in December in Sydney.
Ola on its website notes that it will charge 7.5 per cent commission from its driver partner initially as an introductory offer. The company will run driver-partner referral schemes from time to time.
To register for the Ola driving, drivers have to sign up using their Google account and upload all basic information that is asked for. The company will reach out to the driver once the document is verified. Registration is free.
Founded in 2010, Ola is one of the biggest rivals of Uber in India. With more than 900,000 driver-partners in 110 cities in India, the company has evolved to become one of the largest ride-sharing companies of world. The company claims to have more than 125 million users. Uber which is also a widely use ride-haling service in India and operates nearly in 20 Indian cities.
